I decided to order Betty's from DoorDash. Was BLOWN AWAY. I had driven past this little place so many times and just discounted it. Couldn't have been more wrong. Food was INCREDIBLE. had the Chix Pad Thai - so flavorful and plentiful. Topped with a lot of crushed peanuts. Also had the crab rangoons - again, very flavorful and crispy outside. I've now ordered a few more times this past month because every dish I try is spot on fresh, flavorful and great sized portions! General Tsos (CRISPY!), beef teriyaki and sweet biscuits. Everything is really, really good! And far better prices than some places, including Asia grille.

Rolling up to the shack I was surprised to see no Peking ducks hanging in the windows. But, I went in anyway because Betty is a legend. "Ni hao," Betty. "Ni hao," Foo, "How you been?" "Doing okay," I said. Then I looked around at the joint and ramshackle is kind. Mismatched furniture and oddly placed paintings and neon lights made me think I was in a Wheeling, West Virginia VFW Hall. I took a seat at the bar and spotted Grace as she walked out from the kitchen. "Hey Grace," I said. "Hey Foo, long time," Grace said as she bowed her head a bit and I did the same in return. "What'll you have?" she asked. "Volcano for two but please have Betty make it. Your elbow way too weak!" "Ah Foo, you too funny. I make drink boozy for you, don't worry, be happy!" And with that I drank my Volcano in about five minutes and then had a combo plate I picked by rolling dice. Good thing I no like combo number thirteen! When I was done with my pepper beef and cashews I ordered another Volcano and challenged Betty to a game of mahjong. "Ah Foo, I give you no chance, I am the house! I have house edge and you are just Foo Ling, hahaha!"

What a true Chinese hole in the wall. First impressions was that I felt like I was in a Chinese Grandma's dining room. And this is no diss - I was truly transformed. It was a Chinese Pub - no music - small - news on the small tv and locals having conversations at the bar - that everyone can hear. Hehehehe Again It was quite the first impression! So we start with the hot and sour soup- and it was delicious- freshly made- perfect sweet Unami flavor. The Pupu platter was next- and it did not disappoint. Every part was tasty and it was even tastier with the red, thin duck sauce. I will then make this incredible claim- this has to be the best General Tsaos chicken I've ever tasted. Compliments to the chef!!! Overall a great food adventure. It would be a five stars but I do think there needs to be some music for background noise. But overall a great food adventure!! I will be back.
